There are many schools that have affiliations, or were founded by the Singapore Hokkien Huay Kuan.(SHHK)
They all share the common mission statements as follow:
- To provide moral, cognitive, physical, social and aesthetic development
- Instill a love for the nation and community
- Equip students with basic life skills
-Preserve and promote the Chinese Language and Culture
Their common motto is as follows:

These are the schools:
1)Tao Nan Primary School
o Established by SHHK in 1906 at a private residence before to moving to 39 Armenian Street
o Initial aim of providing students with primary education
o 道南学堂 can be translated as "spreading our philosophy, our culture and our ideas to the South”
o Initially adopted prevailing China’s curriculum, taught Chinese culture and values (Analects of Confucius)
o Eventually started teaching the curriculum in English to meet the needs of the nation, curriculum included Mathematics too, besides from the Chinese language
o Excellent results allowed it to be a Special Assistance Plan (SAP) School; government provides economic aid for needy students; new building added to meet the increasing demand for places in the school because of its stellar results
o Excellent results propels the school to the status of hosting the Gifted Education Programme
2)Ai Tong School
o established in 1912, originally with 30 pupils, housed in a Methodist Church at Boon Tat Street
o 1929: autonomy taken over SHHK
o 1957: The school became a government-aided school.
o 1961: enrolment increased to 2360, biggest enrolment achieved by school
o 1984: All the pupils took English as the first language and Chinese as the second language.
o 1989: The school became a Special Assistance Programme (SAP) school.
o Vision: to have a vibrant community and dynamic leaders
o Logo:
The sign 同 represents schools name
The pair of wings symbolises the school soaring into greater heights, seeking higher aspirations and excellence.
The circles symbolise the cohesive spirit of the teachers and pupils working together towards a common goal.
3)Chongfu Primary School
o formerly known as Chong Hock Girls’ School, founded on 16 April 1915 by Mr Wang Huiyi (a Supervisor of Schools with SHHK).
o Started out with 30 students and lessons were conducted by the principal Madam Lin Suqin, in Hokkien.
o 1930: Mandarin became the medium of instruction.
o 1949: reopened after the Japanese Occupation, had the first intake of boys
o 1957: became a fully government-aided school in 1957.
o 23 December 1985: started taking in pupils of all races and offering all three Mother Tongue languages (Chinese, Malay, Tamil)
o 2000: School underwent PRIME I, new and special facilities were added to better equip the school in its delivery of a holistic education.
o Vision: community of thinkers who are patriotic, global and gracious in outlook
o Core values: Gracious, Respectful, Achieving, Caring, Innovative, Observant, United, Sincere, Loyal, Youthful
4)Nan Chiau High School
o1947: started out as Nan Chiau Teachers’ Training School, then became Nan Chiau Girls’ High School
o1969: school rebuilt to meet increasing student population
o1979: Nan Chiau Girls’ High School began functioning as a full school, primary and secondary sections within the same school compound
o1980: school started teaching in English
o1984: became co-educational, renamed Nan Chiau High School
o2010: accorded SAP status from 2012
o Vision: a distinctive institution of world-ready leaders and thinkers
o Mission: To broaden the minds of Nan Chiau students and teachers and to nuture bicultural learners who lead, serve and inspire
o Values:

5)Nan Chiau Primary School
o2001: Relocated to Sengkang New Town in December 2000, Nan Chiau High School and
oNan Chiau Primary School operated as two schools in January 2001.
o2003: Nan Chiau Primary School was officially opened by RAdm Teo Chee Hean, Minister for Education on 8 March 2003.
o2005: The school was selected to join BackPack.NET, a collaborative initiative by MOE, Microsoft and iDA.
oVision: an innovative school where inspiring educators nuture passionate learners of integrity
oMission: to provide a conducive environment so as to develop the pupil to their fullest potential
6)Kong Hwa School
oMission: to bring out the best in every student of Kong Hwa and to inculcate sound moral values and a passion to learn and serve
oPupil values: sincerity, perseverance, responsibility, cooperation, honesty, humility, respect, integrity, tolerance and filial piety
oImmediately after the Japanese Occupation, the late Mr Tan Lark Sye, Chairman of the Hokkien Huay Kuan at that time, and the committee members realised the urgent need for education and in line with the Huay Kuan's aim to help the community to solve the serious problems of education it decided to build Kong Hwa School.
